What does a Support Worker do?
A Support Worker’s role is to ensure that the individuals we work with receive the best possible care we can offer keeping them safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives. Its so much more than just personal care, in fact that’s only a small proportion of the support we offer. Being a support worker is about supporting people to enhance themselves both whether it be Physically, emotionally or socially. Its about supporting people to develop their skills, environments and communications. Through learning new life skills such as budgeting and cooking to looking for new opportunities, engaging in social and education interactions.
As a support worker no two days will be the same, any day could include; helping someone develop their skills, providing personal and emotional support, helping plan and manage their own home, support with leisure, interests and travel.
Be Unique, Be You!
Enthusiasm, reliability, people skills and a ‘can-do’ approach is essential, we want you to just be yourself. No formal experience is necessary as you will receive full training that is ongoing tailored to the specific needs of the individuals we support. We encourage personal development and offer career progression pathways too.
